Well, I can speak for the CZ team consisting of:
Chris Gray 74 CZ380, Deanna Gray 72 CZ250, myself Tom McAllister 69 CZ360, and Dan Cuhna on his 250 Falta.

Chris started the race and came out of the first turn in second behind Pomeroy of Team Bultaco. Chris made on pass on Pomery but was passed back. At the end of the first lap, Chris was running 2 or 3 seconds behind Pomeroy but missed the exit to the handoff area. He spun the bike around and had to backtrack to the exit but only lost one position to I think a Maico rider.

Deanna then took the band. (Keep In mind she was the only Women rider that I know of in the relay race.) I was staging up to take the handoff for the 3rd lap so I am not sure how her lap went but I think she came in still in the top 4 or 5. Then I took the band and was staying close to the Maico rider ahead of me but could not catch him. I was overtaken by what I think was a KTM rider on the downhill and stayed there until my handoff to dangerous Dan Cuhna. He rode really good really good and I think was running in 4th coming up to the finish.

But in the heat of it all he exited to the handoff area instead of continuing on 3 more turns to the checkered flag. With everyone yelling at him to get back on the course he quickly turned around and tried to blast up and over the backside of a berm which was about 5 feet and almost straight up. He just about cleared it only to high center on the top falling backwards with the bike flipping over backwards on him. He picked himself up, tried to restart the trusty CZ but in the end we ended up pushing him across the finish line! I am not sure how we ended up but we had a blast. A colorful team of old bikes (anybody on anything older than the 69)?, fast women (Did anyone else have a woman on their team?), and senile fast guys (one that can't get off when he's supposed to and one that gets off before the end). Sounds like the makings for a Viagra commercial!

As Chris said so well, "We did it like a true team of Russians."
