Hammer & Tongs • H&T Wire The 3rd Season of Hammer & Tongs, now a 3-Race Series kicked off east of Yakima Washington on May 29th. • 205 entries; not bad for a holiday weekend • hot weather • challenging track with jumps • the Relay Challenge was awesome with Team Suzuki holding off the Team Yamaha & Team Bultaco for top honors. • There were something like 10 new recruits to Vintage Motocross. The inclusion of Ahrma Classes went smoothly, and tech at Hammer & Tongs (seen above) was new. • Jim Pomeroy kindly turned off the Generator in his rig so the Pacific Team could have an open meeting (everyone welcome) where the style & direction of the new Pacific Region was discussed at length. Many Riders later reported that initially the track (though not modern) was a bit much in terms of jumps, but that after practice and a moto they found them selves pushing the envelope and rising to the occasion. Race Day was not as hot as Saturday, and went smoothly.
