125 Evo Rider Robert Fish crushed the opposition in a 1-1 Day Since I was on the same gate with the +50 evo ams, I could have signed up for that class. But racing a little tiddler in that loam with those hills, I never considered that option..I did finish 2-4 overall, and yes I had 3 good battles. The first was trying to sleep in a @*#%ing dome tent on Sat. night during the windstorm...never slept a wink, just kept thinking about Dorothy and Toto, flying monkeys and stuff, but I survived the F-5. Then in Moto 1 I got together with Ken Hoehn in turn 2, and said to myself "not this time..it's somebody elses turn to back off". I finished 2nd to Jeff Embring. Moto 2, I chased my weekend transportation Stu O.on his big Maico for most of a lap, before forcing him into a mistake, and using his left boot for traction, then chased down Ken H., and tried to get by his big Yammy several times on the final lap. I thought I had him at the bottom of the big grassy downhill with a daring pass for 3rd, as I had the inside line on the left hander....but as he railed the outside berm, and I drifted out, I
actually considered the fact both of our days could end in a bad way..and
in a great show of sportsmanship...pat me on the back...I decided a
block pass was not such a good idea, and he and his sled outweighed
me by about 100 lbs. Plus, I kinda owed him one from the first moto...that
and he was NOT GOING TO LET OFF! So, me being the good samaritan, and
a kind racer, and he was in a points battle, + I believed no other 125's
were in front of me...I let him hold his line, and followed him the
last 100 yards up and down the hill to the finish...Now, if I can only
finish my 81 YZ 250..those +50 evo ams got a new playa !
