the editor chasing Ken Geddis

Saturday went like this. To begin with the weather cleared up like magic to let us get racing, which was very cool. Hare scrambles style hairpins at the bottom of each hill were part of the original layout, and soon on the last uphill, which was steep 3 foot wide goat-trail with a hairpin preceding it, a 125 rider stalled it, and instantly there was a following rider who was unable to get by: bottleneck. Five seconds later on the downhill to the first hairpin a rider fell and another rider fell over her, and there was a flag out. Before the first moto there was a brief conference to adjust the track layout, eliminating the hairpins and restoring the track to the swooping track that was there. Good thing- it ended up perfect, and we had a blast all weekend.

In +40 Post Vintage (on Dirk's Husky 360) I found myself chasing Chuck Nerviani & Kenneth Geddis. I pushed like mad, and got by them, but I missed a shift, and Kenneth who was right there slipped back by. And there was nothing I could do about it. My next moto was GP500, and there was a pileup in the first corner. I found myself chasing Richard Silvia, and Kenneth. In the afternoon I was determined to pick up my game, got a better start. I could see Ken behind me, and I was pulling away, but them I managed to foul a plug, and rolled to a stop....

PV Awards Saturday Night:
It was great to finally get both sets of twins together: CJ, Keith, Kenneth & Siege

At 630pm, after racing was over I realized all of a sudden that I was starving to death.
(I can't eat on Race Day) So the Russes Scotty & I all piled in Dirk's truck and headed into
town. We'd accidentally discovered actual food, and the t
his joint was SO good that I'm gonna
give them a plug: Taqueria La Mexicana, in Tracy, CA • 1284 W. 11th St

Into town Russ noted a perfect place for a Natrural Terrain Track on the right side of the highway
where old piles from mining in the 1400s were still scattered about the landscape, now covered in grass. Check out Dirk's swarthy complexion from flagging all day in the sun.
